IN MEMORIAM
Reba Nichols: Our dear sister Reba went to be with the Lord last Sunday morning at Johns Creek Senior Living. We mourn with her children: GC member Kathy Stroop (John) and former members Allen Nichols (Debbie) and Kay Ramers (Skip). Reba was a blessing to many throughout her 97 years, and her family has faithfully served God’s Kingdom for generations. A private family service was held this week.
Please keep Reba’s family in your prayers, and join them in giving thanks for her life and faithful example. Reba’s obituary may be viewed on the Crowell Brothers website: crowellbrothers.com/obituaries.
Bert Blackwell: Our dear brother Bert went to be with the Lord last Sunday morning after a long illness. Bert and Joyce’s life together was a true love story, marked by love for God, for family, for others, and especially for little children. Through his years of declining health, Joyce was his faithful caregiver.
Please keep Joyce and the entire Blackwell family in your prayers. Their son Charlie and his wife, Dawn, are GC members. May the Lord surround them with His comfort, peace, and strength. Bert’s obituary may be viewed on the McDonald and Son website: mcdonaldandson.com/obituaries.

MEDICAL
Phyllis Kempthorne: Phyllis returned home Thursday evening after six nights in the hospital with Influenza A, which caused her electrolytes to drop dangerously low. She and Jim contracted the flu while visiting her brother in Florida, and her brother and his wife became ill as well. Praise God, Phyllis is recovering well and regaining her strength. Please pray for her continued recovery and return to full health, and for Jim as he cares for her.
Macey Chupp – A Note from Parents Maren and Jeremy: Thank you all for praying for our family; we humbly ask that you continue to pray for Macey. After Macey, a varsity volleyball player, had a knee injury and surgery, she began experiencing increasingly scary symptoms over the summer. After many tests, we have a diagnosis: Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) with psychogenic non-epileptic seizures.
On October 19, she begins a 10-day intensive program at a functional neurology center (in Cumming – praise God!), followed by six months of brain rehabilitation. Please pray with us for complete healing from her daily seizures, tremors, and other symptoms; for Macey to fully return to the active life she loves; and for peace, strength, and perspective, that whatever her road looks like, we would draw closer to Him. We continue to see God’s goodness every day, especially through all of you. Thank you for interceding on our behalf. We love you!
Kathy Brooks – Under Hospice Care at Home: Kathy is at home under hospice care, having decided to forgo further treatment. Kathy and Ed are grateful for their wonderful hospice team and for the love shown through visits and calls. Please pray for these beloved saints and their family, asking God to surround them with His peace, comfort, strength, and grace.
Ashley Wyatt: Ashley has completed seven of her 20 rounds of radiation and is thankful to have had no side effects so far. Please continue to pray for her strength, energy, and complete healing. Rocky and Ashley are so grateful for all the prayers, love, and support they have received since her diagnosis.
Grace Brown: Grace has completed radiation and, along with monthly chemotherapy, has resumed immunotherapy for a lung tumor that had begun growing again. Please pray for her healing, for manageable side effects, and for peace and strength for Grace and her family.
John Mowry: John, Luanne Stephens’s 79-year-old brother in Missouri, has been experiencing kidney problems, and it was feared he might need dialysis. Praise God, he has improved, and dialysis is no longer being considered. Please pray for John’s full recovery, and for his family and Luanne as they lovingly support him.
Kathy Bain: Jane Gilliard’s sister, Kathy, has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and has begun chemotherapy. Kathy and her husband, Dewey, are former members of Grace Chapel. Please pray for strength, comfort, peace, successful treatment, and complete healing, and for encouragement for Dewey and their family.
Bradley Eidex: Bradley, a recent college graduate and dear family friend of Jeff and Melissa Baillairge, was diagnosed with cancer after tests revealed several malignant tumors. He is scheduled to begin chemotherapy on Monday, October 12. Please pray for effective treatment with minimal side effects and for his complete healing. Please also remember his family, especially his father, who is taking time away from work to be with Bradley during his treatment.
