MEDICAL

Verna Enfinger: Margaret Krams' mother, Verna, improved enough to return home from a Florida hospital recently and continues receiving in-home care as she recovers from a urinary tract infection. One of Margaret's sisters lives with Verna and serves as her full-time caregiver, while another sister helps by providing meals and running errands. Margaret also travels to Florida regularly, staying with her mother for two weeks at a time to give her sister a much-needed break.

Please pray for strength, endurance, and complete healing for Verna. Also remember Margaret and her sisters as they faithfully care for her and support her during this season.

Kathy Brooks - Under Hospice Care: Kathy is at home under hospice care as she has decided to forgo further treatment of some serious health issues. Kathy and Ed are delighted with every person from the hospice team and are so grateful for the love and support brought by visitors and phone calls.

Please continue to pray for these two beloved saints and family, asking God to surround them with His peace, comfort, strength, and grace.

John Wood: John is currently under the care of his Emory oncologist for cancer in the lining of his abdomen, which has caused nausea and fluid buildup. The drain used to remove the excess fluid stopped working and was replaced this week. Thankfully, the new drain provided immediate relief, allowing a significant amount of fluid to be removed. As a result, John has been able to eat and sleep much better.

In the meantime, John's oncologist is evaluating additional treatment options aimed at further reducing or eliminating cancer growth related to his pancreatic cancer.

Please pray that this treatment plan will be effective and that John's nausea, pain, and other side effects will continue to improve. Pray also that he will regain strength, appetite, and endurance in the days ahead. Remember Alicia and the entire family as they faithfully walk this journey together.

Grace Brown: Grace recently learned that the tumor in her lung has begun to grow again. She is scheduled to undergo five radiation treatments in early August to target the growth. She will also continue her monthly chemotherapy infusions.
Please continue praying for Grace's healing, for manageable treatment side effects, and for peace, strength, and encouragement for Grace and her family.

Rosemary Lisby: Rosemary has been dealing with digestive issues over the past week and a half, in addition to ongoing inflammation in her lower back that has affected mobility in her right leg and caused numbness in her foot.

Please pray for relief from these digestive concerns, complete healing, and fully restored mobility so she can confidently resume driving. Please also remember her husband, Greg, as he faithfully cares for and supports her during this time.

Virginia Ann Edwards (Bo Edwards’ mother): Sister Edwards celebrated her 92nd birthday last Monday. She continues to recover from a partial hip replacement and plans to remain at home for the foreseeable future. Please pray for strength and healing as she continues her rehabilitation, and for her family as they lovingly care for her.

Bo Edwards’ sister, Calli: Calli was hospitalized in North Carolina three weeks ago due to mental health challenges and returned home recently. Please pray for her continued healing and emotional well-being, and for peace, strength, and encouragement for her immediate family.

OUR SICK AND SAINTS AT HOME

Please remember in your prayers the following GC members who have ongoing health issues and are generally unable to attend worship services:

Esther and Russ Johnson: Esther has experienced increased weakness in recent weeks and has undergone medical testing to determine whether additional treatments may help improve her condition. We continue to pray for renewed strength and an improved quality of life as she manages Parkinson’s disease. Please also remember Russ, who faithfully cares for her each day. May the Lord bless and sustain them both as they continue to persevere with love, faith, and gratitude.

David and Carolyn Wheeler: David is battling cancer in both kidneys as well as prostate cancer. Pain is being kept under control very well with minimal pain meds, and both David and Carolyn continue to maintain wonderful, inspiring positive attitudes. Please keep this special couple in your prayers. They welcome cards and calls.

Bert and Joyce Blackwell: Please pray for Bert as his health continues to decline, and for Joyce as she faithfully cares for him each day. Pray that God will strengthen Joyce physically, emotionally, and spiritually as she serves as Bert’s caregiver.

Melissa Boyle is helping to coordinate meals; you may sign up to take them a meal at mealtrain.com/trains/yrzl3k. Feel free to send Joyce a text of encouragement (no calls, please); she so appreciates it.

Wayne and Faye Tincher: The Tinchers, both in their early 90s, have been GC members since moving to Cumming three years ago. Due to health and mobility challenges, neither is able to drive. Please keep this dear couple in your thoughts and prayers.
