IN MEMORIAM

Please continue to remember in prayer the families of Bobby McVey, Cindy Womble, and Camie Pew as they grieve the loss of their loved ones. May the Lord surround them with His comfort and peace.

MEDICAL

Kathy Brooks - Under Hospice Care: Last weekend, after battling serious health issues for almost two months at Northside Hospital, Kathy decided to forgo further treatments and return home under hospice care.

Kathy and Ed are delighted with every person from the hospice team who has visited, and are so grateful for the love and support brought by visitors and phone calls.

Let all of Grace Chapel Church continue to pray for these two beloved saints, asking God to surround them with His peace, comfort, strength, and grace.

John Wood: John and Alicia have returned home after John’s participation in a clinical trial in New York City. We continue to thank God for the remarkable results of the trial medication, which reduced the cancer in John’s pancreas by approximately 60 percent and completely eliminated the cancer in his liver.

While the cancer has progressed in the lining of John’s abdomen, causing fluid buildup and discomfort, John recently met with his oncologist at Emory, who was extremely pleased with his progress and remarked on how well he looks despite everything he has been through. The oncologist is beginning the process of seeking early access to one of the trial drugs that proved so effective and hopes to add it to John’s treatment plan after evaluating his response to chemotherapy.

John received a round of chemotherapy this week and continues to recover from recent radiation treatments while managing fatigue and complications related to fluid retention.

Please pray for strength, comfort, and relief from these side effects. Pray also that the new treatment plan will be effective, that access to the trial medication will be approved, and that John will continue to experience healing. Please remember Alicia and the entire family as they walk through this journey together.

Rick Sampley: Rick is recovering well at home following right hip replacement surgery last Thursday and is making good progress in rehabilitation. He and his family are thankful for your continued prayers and support.

Grace Brown: Grace continues undergoing immunotherapy for lung cancer through daily medication and monthly injections. Recent scans show that all tumors are continuing to shrink and that inflammation is steadily decreasing—praise God for this encouraging progress!

Please continue praying for Grace’s healing, manageable treatment side effects, and for peace and strength for Grace and her family.

Rosemary Lisby: Rosemary continues to deal with inflamed nerves in her back, affecting mobility in her right leg and causing numbness in her foot. Please pray for complete healing and fully restored mobility. Also remember her husband, Greg, as he continues to care for her.

Virginia Ann Edwards (Bo Edwards’ mother): Sister Edwards, age 91, is continuing her recovery and rehab following a partial hip replacement.  She will continue living at home for the time being.

Bo Edwards’ sister, Calli: Please pray for Calli’s mental health and for peace within her immediate family.

OUR SICK AND SAINTS AT HOME

Please remember in your prayers the following GC members who have ongoing health issues and are generally unable to attend worship services:

David and Carolyn Wheeler: David is battling cancer in both kidneys as well as prostate cancer. Pain is being kept under control very well with minimal pain meds, and both David and Carolyn continue to maintain wonderful, inspiring positive attitudes. Please keep this special couple in your prayers. They welcome cards and calls.

Esther and Russ Johnson: Esther has experienced improved strength and breathing through physical therapy, which has now been reduced to once a week. Please pray for continued progress for Esther as she manages Parkinson’s disease, and for Russ as he faithfully cares for her.

Bert and Joyce Blackwell: Pray for Bert’s declining health and for Joyce as his caregiver. We pray for strength for Joyce and that she can hold up physically as caregiver. Melissa Boyle is helping to coordinate meals; you may sign up to take them a meal at mealtrain.com/trains/yrzl3k. Feel free to send Joyce a text of encouragement (no calls, please); she so appreciates it.

Wayne and Faye Tincher: The Tinchers, both in their early 90s, have been GC members since moving to Cumming three years ago. Due to health and mobility challenges, neither is able to drive. Please keep this dear couple in your thoughts and prayers.
