MEDICAL
Kathy Brooks: As many of you know, Kathy has been living with multiple sclerosis for many years. She was recently diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia and began treatment on May 18. After 28 days of chemotherapy, a follow-up biopsy will be performed to evaluate her progress.
Please pray that her treatment will be effective, that side effects will be minimal, and that she will be strengthened and sustained each day. Also remember her husband, Ed, as he faithfully cares for her—praying that God’s will be done and that both will be filled with peace, strength, and encouragement during this time.
Sherry McMillan: Sherry underwent knee replacement surgery on May 14 and is recovering well. Please pray for a smooth rehabilitation, reduced swelling, effective pain management, and a swift recovery. Please also pray for strength for her husband, Kirk, as he cares for her.
Bobby McVey: Bobby has been recovering well after battling lung cancer and undergoing back surgery. However, a recent scan revealed an increase in the size of a lesion in his right hepatic (liver) lobe. His oncologist has referred him to a thoracic oncologist at Emory, where he will undergo additional scans of the brain and spine. These evaluations may lead to a revised treatment plan and possibly participation in a clinical study.
His new physician at Emory has already begun reviewing prior MRI scans and is scheduled to meet with Bobby on June 3. Please pray for clear and effective evaluation, wisdom in any treatment decisions, and for strength and peace for Bobby, Carrie, and their family. May the Lord grant healing to this dear brother.
Sandra Barker: Sandra experienced a very mild stroke on Thursday, April 30, and is recovering well. She is already back to teaching her piano students. Please continue praying for Sandra’s full healing and restoration, and for Randy as he faithfully cares for her.
Camie Pew: Mark and Patti Pews’ daughter-in-law, Camie, continues to battle recurring breast cancer. Her husband, Nathan, and daughters, Eliana and Madi, have been a tremendous support to her during this challenge. Camie continues with two different types of chemotherapy treatments and has been resting at home.
Please continue to lift Camie and Nathan up in prayer—for treatment effectiveness, for comfort, peace, strength, and joy even in suffering.
John Wood: John continues to respond very well to his pancreatic cancer treatments. There was encouraging news following John’s recent visit with his New York oncologist, who shared that the majority of his pancreatic and liver disease is now under control. The MRI showed that the spot on his L3 vertebra has increased only slightly and has not extended into the spinal cord. A one-time radiation treatment is planned for that area, which has been about 90 percent effective. She sees no reason for him to not remain in the pancreatic cancer trial.
This past Friday, John underwent an outpatient procedure at Emory in Atlanta to drain fluid from his abdomen, bringing relief from recent discomfort. Thankfully, the procedure went well and allows for a quick recovery. Please continue praying that the tumors will keep shrinking and ultimately disappear, and for John’s complete healing.
Wanda Quattlebaum: On March 10, Wanda fell and fractured her femur just above the knee. After extensive surgery and a short stay in a rehabilitation facility, she returned home a few weeks ago. She is responding well to physical therapy.
Wanda and Ray praise God for His healing hand and are grateful for your prayers, encouragement, and support throughout this journey. Your prayers have been a true blessing, and they deeply appreciate each one of you.
Grace Brown: Grace continues undergoing immunotherapy for lung cancer through daily medication and monthly injections. Recent scans show that all tumors are continuing to shrink and that inflammation is steadily decreasing—praise God for this encouraging progress! Please continue praying for Grace’s healing, manageable treatment side effects, and for peace and strength for Grace and her family.
Rosemary Lisby: Rosemary continues to deal with inflamed nerves in her back that affect mobility in her right leg and cause numbness in her foot. A recent injection did not provide relief, and she continues with physical therapy while exploring other treatment options. Please pray for complete healing and fully restored mobility. Also remember her husband, Greg, as he continues to care for her.
Virginia Ann Edwards (Bo Edwards’ mother): Sister Edwards, age 91, is continuing her recovery and rehab following a partial hip replacement. Please pray for her healing and for those caring for her, including Bo. Also pray that her application is approved for a place in an assisted living facility near her daughter Clair in Myrtle Beach.
Please pray that her treatment will be effective, that side effects will be minimal, and that she will be strengthened and sustained each day. Also remember her husband, Ed, as he faithfully cares for her—praying that God’s will be done and that both will be filled with peace, strength, and encouragement during this time.

OUR SICK AND SAINTS AT HOME
Please remember in your prayers the following GC members who have ongoing health issues and are generally unable to attend worship services:

Bert and Joyce Blackwell: Pray for Bert’s declining health and for Joyce as his caregiver. We pray for strength for Joyce and that she can hold up physically as caregiver. Melissa Boyle is helping to coordinate meals; you may sign up to take a meal at mealtrain.com/trains/yrzl3k. Feel free to send Joyce a text of encouragement (no calls, please); she so appreciates it.
David and Carolyn Wheeler: David is battling cancer in both kidneys as well as prostate cancer. Pain is being kept under control very well with minimal pain meds, and both David and Carolyn continue to maintain wonderful, inspiring positive attitudes. Please keep this special couple in your prayers. David and Carolyn welcome cards and calls.
Wayne and Faye Tincher: Wayne and Faye, both in their early 90s, live at The Glen Villas on Highway 9 and have been part of Grace Chapel since moving to Cumming three years ago.
