MEDICAL
John Wood: John continues to respond very well to his pancreatic cancer treatments. Please continue praying that the tumors will continue to shrink and disappear, and for John’s complete healing. John, Alicia and their family are so thankful to our Heavenly Father in so many ways! Pray for John’s renewing strength, relief from pain, and for peace and comfort that only God can provide.
Bobby McVey: After recovering well from lung cancer, two cancer spots were later discovered on Bobby’s back (vertebrae). This led to back surgery several months ago to stabilize a weakened vertebra affected by one of the spots.
Since recovering from surgery and completing five recent radiation treatments to eliminate any remaining cancer cells, Bobby is experiencing significantly less back pain. His pain has decreased enough that he is now off pain medication, sleeping well at night, and able to do his own physical therapy. Bobby’s next scan is scheduled for May 12. Please pray for a clean scan and complete healing.
When we asked, “What should we pray for?” his response was, “Praise God!” Bobby’s heart is overflowing with praise and thankfulness!
Wanda Quattlebaum: On March 10th, Wanda fell and fractured her femur just above the knee. After extensive surgery on the 11th and 12th, she was released to a rehab facility.
Her husband, Ray, shared that the past few days have been very busy. After meeting with the surgeon, they hoped Wanda’s stay at the rehab facility could be extended, but the appeal was denied, so she returned home Thursday. Thankfully, getting her settled went smoothly with help from others, and they are now adjusting to life at home and navigating daily routines with a wheelchair. Wanda will need continued therapy, and they are in the process of arranging both physical and occupational therapy. Ray and Wanda are deeply grateful for the kindness, support, and prayers they have received as Wanda continues her recovery.
Please pray for Wanda’s continued healing and for Ray. Pray that the insurance company will be accommodating throughout Wanda’s recovery. May the Lord grant them strength and perseverance.
Grace Brown: Grace continues undergoing immunotherapy for lung cancer through daily medication and periodic infusions. Tom recently shared that last week’s scans showed all tumors are continuing to shrink and that the inflammation is steadily decreasing—praise God for this encouraging progress! In addition, the infusions have now received FDA approval to be administered as a once-a-month injection. If approved by insurance, this could significantly reduce the frequency of their visits. Please continue praying for healing, manageable treatment side effects, and for peace and strength for Grace and her family.
Ruthanne Redfield: Ruthanne is working through several physical issues, including finding the right balance for her thyroid medication, addressing low body temperature, and managing some vision concerns. Please be praying for wisdom for her doctors and for clarity in treatment as these issues are addressed, and that Ruthanne may be restored to full and lasting health.
Rosemary Lisby: Rosemary continues to improve from inflamed nerves in her back that have affected mobility in her right leg and caused numbness in her foot—at times limiting her ability to drive. The first two epidural treatments have been helpful, and she is scheduled to receive two additional treatments in the coming weeks. As her ability to drive and get out independently continues to improve, please pray for complete healing and fully restored mobility. Please also remember her husband, Greg, as he continues to care for Rosemary and provide support and transportation when needed.
Virginia Ann Edwards (Bo Edwards’ mother): Sister Edwards, age 91, is continuing her recovery and rehab following a partial hip replacement. Please pray for her healing and for those caring for her, including Bo. Also pray that her application is approved for a place in an assisted living facility near her daughter Clair in Myrtle Beach.
Calli (Bo Edwards’ sister): Please continue to pray for restored mental health, renewed motivation, and peace within her home, especially as she and her husband care for their special needs son. Calli seems to be doing better after in-hospital treatments she underwent a few months ago.

OUR SICK AND SAINTS AT HOME
Please remember in your prayers the following GC members who have ongoing health issues and are generally unable to attend worship services:
Bert and Joyce Blackwell: Pray for Bert’s declining health and for Joyce as his caregiver. Joyce says that they continue to hang in there. We pray for strength for Joyce and that she can hold up physically as caregiver. Knee pain continues to be an ongoing struggle for her.
Melissa Boyle is helping to coordinate meals; you may sign up to take a meal at mealtrain.com/trains/yrzl3k. Feel free to send Joyce a text of encouragement (no calls, please); she so appreciates it.
Esther Johnson: Esther continues her visits to a physical therapist twice a week and is enjoying the challenge of the workouts. Russ says the therapy is helping—not only with maintaining mobility, but also by giving her a chance to get out of the house. Please pray for renewed strength and continued progress for Esther as she battles Parkinson’s, and for Russ as he faithfully cares for her.
David and Carolyn Wheeler: David is battling cancer in both kidneys as well as prostate cancer. Pain is being kept under control very well with minimal pain meds. David credits Carolyn for keeping him alive—she is a wonderful caregiver. They continue to maintain wonderful, inspiring positive attitudes. Please keep this special couple in your prayers. David and Carolyn welcome cards and calls.
Wayne and Faye Tincher: Wayne and Faye are both in their early 90s, live at The Glen Villas on Highway 9, and have been part of Grace Chapel since moving to Cumming three years ago. They were members of Northlake Church of Christ for 50 years where Wayne served as an elder. He is a retired professor from Georgia Tech. Due to health and mobility challenges, neither Wayne nor Faye drives. They have three children and six grandchildren here in Georgia. Please keep this dear couple in your thoughts and prayers.
