DUE TO SNOW AND ICE, OUR JANUARY 12 SERVICES HAVE BEEN CANCELED

Prayer Requests • 12/21/2025

MEDICAL

Tyler Davidson: On Tuesday, December 23, Tyler will undergo a heart ablation procedure to treat a recently diagnosed rare congenital heart condition. This procedure is expected to allow him to live a normal, healthy life. Please pray for Tyler, his medical team, successful surgery, and for a full recovery. We also lift up his wife, Tori, and their three young children to our Heavenly Father.

Donna Swann (Debra Widdel’s sister): Donna, who lives in Missouri, underwent surgery on Friday to amputate one of her big toes. We are thankful the procedure went well and that doctors did not need to remove her entire foot. She is now home and recovering. Please pray for complete healing, comfort, and a smooth recovery. Debra is thankful for your prayers!

John Wood: John continues treatments for pancreatic cancer in a three-month clinical trial in New York City. Tuesday’s scan showed encouraging news! The main tumor in his pancreas is 20% smaller, the spots in his liver are also smaller, and no new masses have appeared. John’s oncologist is encouraged by his progress in the trial, and his neurosurgeon has released him after his fall a few weeks ago.

John will remain in New York for Christmas, with several family members joining him at their apartment near St. Patrick’s Cathedral. Please continue to pray for the success of John’s treatment, relief from pain, and complete healing. We also ask for strength, peace, and comfort for John, Alicia, and their entire family.

Grace Brown: Grace continues to receive immunotherapy treatments for lung cancer, taking daily oral medication and periodic infusions. Thanks be to God that the treatment is having the desired effect of reducing the lung tumors significantly!  The lesions in the brain and hip are shrinking with some no longer visible. The side effects of treatment, however, are taking a toll which requires managing the infusions, which the doctors are doing. Pray that side effects will be reduced in severity as the treatments continue. Please continue to pray for complete healing, strength, and peace for Grace and her family.

Tom and Grace recently celebrated the marriage of their son, Caleb. Congratulations to the entire Brown family and the bride’s family as well! We pray God’s blessings and for a wonderful life for this young couple.

Rosemary Lisby: Rosemary continues to experience periodic numbness in her right foot due to a pinched nerve in her back. An epidural is scheduled for January 15 to hopefully resolve the issue. While not in pain, Rosemary is careful when she walks, and at present is not able to drive. Please pray that the epidural will bring complete relief and healing. Also please remember Greg, as he cares for Rosemary —and serves as her chauffeur.

Susan Boling: Susan is recovering well from hip replacement surgery, though she still faces physical challenges, including an open heel crack and extended antibiotics. We thank God for her improved mental and emotional health! Thank You, Lord, for answering prayers for relief and healing. Please continue to pray for Susan’s complete restoration of mobility, strength, and overall health.

Calli (Bo Edwards’ sister): Calli returned home a few weeks ago after spending several weeks in a mental health facility in Charlotte, NC. Please pray for continued healing, renewed motivation, and peace in her home with her husband and their special needs son.

OUR SICK AND SAINTS AT HOME

Please remember in your prayers the following GC members who have ongoing health issues and are generally unable to attend worship services:

Esther and Russ Johnson: Esther is scheduled for a heart catheterization on Monday, December 29 to help rule out any heart issues that might explain her recent continued lack of strength and shortness of breath. This is complicated by the fact that Esther has Parkinson’s disease and several attendant health issues. Insurance initially denied coverage of the procedure, but should provide updated coverage information within the next few days. We pray that Esther gets approval for the procedure and that our Heavenly Father intervenes, whatever the outcome, to return her strength, a better quality of life, and the ability to breathe easily once again.

Bert and Joyce Blackwell: Pray for Bert’s declining health and for Joyce as his caregiver. Joyce says that they continue to hang in there. Melissa Boyle is helping to coordinate meals; you may sign up to take a meal at mealtrain.com/trains/yrzl3k. Feel free to send Joyce a text of encouragement (no calls, please); she so appreciates it.

David and Carolyn Wheeler: David cannot be around large crowds due to his weak immune system. He is battling cancer in both kidneys as well as prostate cancer. Thankfully, neither has spread, and we pray that this remains the case since surgery is not an option for either condition. Pain management is currently under control. David credits Carolyn for keeping him alive—she is a wonderful caregiver. They continue regular doctor visits as Carolyn also faces health challenges, yet both maintain positive attitudes. David and Carolyn welcome calls or visits.
