MEDICAL

Grace Brown: Grace has received a treatment plan from her Emory medical team for her recently diagnosed lung cancer and will begin weekly chemo treatments right away. Please pray for resilience, strength, and peace as Grace begins this journey, and that the treatments remove the cancer entirely from her body. Also, we pray for her husband, Tom, daughters, Anna and Cara, and son, Caleb. Let us all battle in prayer for Grace’s health just as she is battling. Let us lift up this sweet family to our Heavenly Father as we pray for complete healing and restoration of health.

John Wood: John continues his chemo treatments for pancreatic cancer and is doing much better. He has gained back a significant amount of weight, and his strength has returned with his walking and working out. Still deals with nausea and weakness from time to time but is managing his body as best he can. John is currently on a fishing trip in Colorado with son, Dillon, nephew, Zane, and dear friend, Brett Turner. It’s beautiful out there and they are having a great time. Please pray for strength for John, full remission of the cancer, and complete healing. We are also very mindful of Alicia, John’s faithful partner, and their entire sweet family.

Jane and Doug Gilliard: Both are dealing with ongoing medical situations. Doug is recovering nicely from extensive surgery to mend his hip and will soon begin water aerobics to help regain strength. Jane is starting PT after x-rays this week revealed that her broken right wrist and elbow are healing nicely. Right now, neither of them can drive so it’s literally “all in the family,” as Doug and Jane’s physical family have stepped big time up to meet their daily needs. Church family has also stepped up as well. Please continue to pray for full recovery. Doug and Jane look forward to the day they will be back worshiping with us in person.

Susan Boling: Susan has had a number of ongoing health mountains to climb this year with a heart infection, severe back, hip and leg pain, and others. This summer she “vacationed” in the hospital for several weeks, followed by over a month in a rehab facility. But it was no vacation. She’s been home for over a month now.

Praise God that one mountain has been scaled as Susan’s heart infection has healed! In a note this week Susan says, “I’m happy to report that I have no more daily trips to the clinic to receive antibiotics (for my heart).”  She also said, “I started PT this week at Champion rehab in Cumming to deal with the severe back, hip and knee pain and will be seeing a pain management doctor…”

She is hopeful to ease some of the pain in her back, hip, and leg as she works her way toward having a hip replacement. Susan says, “Pain wears on the body, mind, and spirit to the point of exhaustion some days. But I am hopeful that continued prayers will help me through the next phase of this journey through pain management and reduction. I am grateful for all the prayers and loving care that have been and are still being said and done for me. Continued prayers are loved and appreciated.”  We love you Susan and are praying for you!

Bo Edwards’ sister, Calli: Calli continues to deal with mental health issues. Please pray for Calli and her family in these ongoing struggles, that the issues will be resolved, and the household will have peace. Please pray also for Bo as he is ministering to them.

OUR SICK AND SAINTS AT HOME

A big “thank you” to so many who are reaching out as the Spirit prompts you to our dear brothers and sisters who are experiencing trials and tribulations, both medically and spiritually. Cards, phone calls, and visits are so appreciated. Please remember in your prayers the following GC members who have ongoing health issues and are generally unable to attend worship services:

Esther and Russ Johnson: Pray for Esther’s ongoing struggles with Parkinson’s and digestion issues, and for her husband, Russ, as her caregiver.

Bert and Joyce Blackwell: Pray for Bert’s declining health, and for Joyce as his caregiver. Please give Joyce a call of encouragement.

David and Carolyn Wheeler: David cannot be around large crowds due to his weak immune system. However, he and Carolyn are happy to have calls or visits.
