DUE TO SNOW AND ICE, OUR JANUARY 12 SERVICES HAVE BEEN CANCELED

Prayer Requests • 9/7/2025

MEDICAL

Bea Sage: Patrick Boyle’s sister, Bea, was diagnosed week before last with stage 3 throat cancer.  Her treatments call for several weeks of radiation mixed in with chemotherapy. Please pray that treatments will be completely successful and for Bea to return to full health.  Also continue to remember the entire family in the recent loss of Bea and Patrick’s father.

Fran Sexton: Fran continues to recover at home after being hospitalized due to swelling and pain in her right leg that was caused by a blood clot. Scans performed on Thursday revealed that the clot had completely dissolved, and the swelling in her leg continues to recede. Praise God! Please pray that no further clots develop, that the swelling subsides completely, and that she regains full mobility. Also, please keep her husband, Paul, in your prayers as he cares for Fran during her recovery.

Doug Gilliard: Doug met with his doctor this past Thursday and received a great report on his recent hip repair surgery. It was a serious procedure that lasted three and a half hours, but he is recovering extremely well. The staples have been removed, and he is healing nicely. Rehab is going great as he continues residency at Cumming Health and Rehab. With Doug’s excellent progress, he is projected to be released to go home by Friday. Please pray for healing from the surgery and full recovery with no more falls. Also pray for strength in the face of the rehab and for the entire family, especially Doug’s wife, Jane.

Loretta Allen (Ann Kendrick and Tommy Bradford’s sister): Was hospitalized at Northside Hospital – Forsyth this past Thursday due to continued problems with blood clots in her lungs. On August 22, Loretta received news that she had stage 4 bone cancer and was told that life expectancy was limited. The plan to have periodic chemotherapy sessions at Northside Forsyth Hospital was put on hold for now since she is so weak and has low oxygen levels. At 82 years old, Loretta and her family are up against a challenging journey. We pray that our Heavenly Father will bless and be with Loretta and her family, and His will be done.  Please keep the entire extended family in your thoughts and prayers.

You may send cards of encouragement to:
Loretta Allen, 202 Wild Ridge Rd., Blairsville, GA 30512

Susan Boling: After a month-long stay at Cumming Health and Rehab, Susan is so glad to be back home. She is still dealing with back and hip pain and is receiving physical therapy at home, along with ongoing treatment for an infected aortic valve in her heart. For the next three weeks, she will need to visit her doctor’s office daily for antibiotic infusions to treat the infection. Her family is taking excellent care of her, including her brother, who has moved into the room/apartment that she normally rents out. Please continue to keep Susan in your prayers for a full recovery, complete healing and relief from pain, and be with all those ministering to her, including her family and the saints at Grace Chapel.

John Wood: Continues his chemo treatments for pancreatic cancer and is doing much better. He has gained back some weight and is actively walking each day (about three miles every morning). He still deals with periodic weakness and nausea after treatments but is able to eat. Please pray for strength for John, full remission of the cancer, and complete healing. Pray also for Alicia and their entire sweet family.

Bo Edwards’ sister, Calli: Continues to deal with mental health issues and is currently in a mental health facility. Please pray for Calli and her family in these ongoing struggles, that the issues will be resolved, and the household will have peace. Please pray also for Bo as he is ministering to them.

Bo Edwards: Visited his doctor on Thursday for upper respiratory symptoms. Bo is very sick with a combination cold/sinus problem and is extremely weak. Please pray for healing and full recovery.

OUR SICK AND SAINTS AT HOME

A big “thank you” to so many who are reaching out as the Spirit prompts you to our dear brothers and sisters who are experiencing trials and tribulations, both medically and spiritually. Cards, phone calls, and visits are so appreciated. Please remember in your prayers the following GC members who have ongoing health issues and are generally unable to attend worship services:

Esther and Russ Johnson: Pray for Esther’s ongoing struggles with Parkinson’s and digestion issues, and for her husband, Russ, as her caregiver.

Bert and Joyce Blackwell: Pray for Bert’s declining health, and for Joyce as his caregiver. Please give Joyce a call of encouragement.

David and Carolyn Wheeler: David cannot be around large crowds due to his weak immune system. However, he and Carolyn are happy to have calls or visits.
