WINTER WEATHER
We pray for safety and good health for us and our countrymen in the face of the huge winter storm advancing across our nation. We pray especially for all those in service-based jobs requiring them to be away from home and family, such as medical personnel (hospitals, doctors and nurses), firemen, police, EMT and all others as they serve. May God bless them and be with them!
MEDICAL
Ruthanne Redfield: Wonderful news: Ruthanne's medical team has diagnosed the cause of her dangerously low body temperatures and inability to walk.
She is at home and said on Friday, "I am doing a whole lot better now. But they finally found out. It is my thyroid. So now, time will tell. I should be a lot better soon, I hope. I already feel a lot better. I’ve got a prescription for Synthroid. Thank you so much for checking up on me. Just pray for me that this doesn't last long and I’ll be back to my own self." Indeed, dear sister, your old self, feeling well, is exactly what we are praying for.
Beatrice Sage: Bea, Patrick Boyle’s 58-year-old sister in New York, recently completed radiation and chemotherapy for stage-four throat cancer, diagnosed in September. The treatments caused significant loss of weight and strength. Bea is awaiting results from scans done last week to assess her response to the treatments. Please pray for full remission, no spread of the cancer, physical strength, and overall restoration. Total healing!
Rosemary Lisby: Rosemary may receive a second epidural injection in her back in the coming weeks to help calm inflamed nerves that have caused ongoing numbness and pain in her right leg and foot. She has been dealing with this for several months. Please pray for complete healing, restored mobility, and the ability to drive again. Also keep her husband, Greg—her caregiver and driver—in your prayers.
John Wood: John continues treatments for pancreatic cancer in a clinical trial in New York City. We were so happy to see John at church last Sunday. Alicia says, “John got to come home for his birthday!!! He takes the trial drugs daily, so he can take them here in Atlanta. He is responding very well to the drugs, and his doctor was comfortable with him returning home. We are back in NYC next week as he has a scan and doctor's visits. It is our prayer that his improvement is so significant that he will be able to live in Atlanta and commute every 2-3 weeks for appointments!”
Please pray for the success of John’s treatments, relief from pain, and complete healing. We also ask for strength, peace, and comfort for John, Alicia, and their entire family.
Grace Brown: Grace is undergoing immunotherapy for lung cancer through daily medication and periodic infusions. Thanks be to God that the treatments are working—the lung tumors have significantly decreased, and several lesions in the brain and hip have shrunk or disappeared. Side effects, however, have become more challenging, including rashes and fatigue. Please pray for healing, for manageable treatment side effects, and for ongoing peace and strength for Grace and her family.
Susan Boling: Susan is doing very well since her hip replacement surgery. Mid-week this week, Susan will be having an outpatient procedure to close a place that had not fully closed on the hip incision. Please continue praying for full healing and the return of mobility, strength, and overall health.
Virginia Ann Edwards: Sister Edwards, Bo Edwards’ mother, is 91 and lives alone in Columbia, South Carolina. Recently she fell and fractured her left hip, leading to a partial hip replacement. Family members, including Bo, are alternating caregiving responsibilities. Please pray for her full recovery and for those who are ministering to her.
Calli (Bo Edwards’ sister): Please pray for restoration of mental health and renewed motivation, and peace within her home, especially as she and her husband care for their special‑needs son.

OUR SICK AND SAINTS AT HOME
Please remember in your prayers the following GC members who have ongoing health issues and are generally unable to attend worship services:
Bert and Joyce Blackwell: : Pray for Bert’s declining health and for Joyce as his caregiver. Joyce says that they continue to hang in there. We pray for strength for Joyce and that she can hold up physically as caregiver. Knee pain continues to be an ongoing struggle for her.
Melissa Boyle is helping to coordinate meals; you may sign up to take a meal at mealtrain.com/trains/yrzl3k. Feel free to send Joyce a text of encouragement (no calls, please); she so appreciates it.
David and Carolyn Wheeler: David said recently, “We are walking by faith. We are doing as good as we can, keeping our doctor’s appointments, and looking at more MRI tests. Thanks to everyone who is praying for us!”
David is battling cancer in both kidneys as well as prostate cancer. Pain is being kept under control very well with minimal pain meds. David credits Carolyn for keeping him alive—she is a wonderful caregiver. They continue to maintain wonderful, inspiring positive attitudes. David and Carolyn welcome calls or visits.
Esther Johnson: Esther continues to face Parkinson’s disease and related health concerns. She has begun a new oral medication that her doctor hopes will help restore strength and improve breathing. Please pray that she tolerates the medication well and experiences real benefits. Pray for renewed stamina, easier breathing, and a better quality of life—and for Russ as he cares for her.
