DUE TO WINTER WEATHER, OUR JANUARY 25 SERVICES HAVE BEEN CANCELED

Prayer Requests • 5/3/2026

IN MEMORIAM

Cary Cundall, brother of Judy Green, passed away this past Sunday evening in Tennessee. He was diagnosed only a couple of weeks ago with several serious health issues, including cancer. Although doctors began developing a treatment plan and sent him home, Cary’s condition declined rapidly. He returned to the hospital last Friday and passed away on Sunday. Services were held Friday, May 1, in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee. Please pray for Judy and her surviving brother and sister during this time of loss.

MEDICAL

Sandra Barker: Sandra experienced a mild stroke on Thursday and will be hospitalized at Northside Forsyth for at least another night. Please pray for a quick and full recovery for Sandra, and pray for her husband, Randy, as well.

Camie Pew: Mark and Patti Pews’ daughter-in-law, Camie, continues to battle cancer (breast cancer in 2020, metastatic breast cancer in 2024, leptomeningeal disease in 2025). Her husband, Nathan, and daughters, Eliana and Madi, have been a tremendous support to her during this challenge. Camie’s most recent chemo treatment was on May 1, but the most prominent need is a decision on how to move forward with LMD treatment based on a neurosurgeon’s assessment on April 29.

Please pray for wisdom as Camie and Nathan make this incredibly impactful decision. She has been inspirationally authentic in her publicly accessible Facebook group (“Camie’s Cancer Journey”) on the role of faith in dealing with reality. If you are struggling, read/watch her posts to be motivated in your own spiritual life.

John Wood: John continues to respond very well to his pancreatic cancer treatments. Please continue praying that the tumors will continue to shrink and disappear, and for John’s complete healing. John, Alicia and their family are so thankful to our Heavenly Father in so many ways!  Pray for John’s renewing strength, relief from pain, and for peace and comfort that only God can provide.

Bobby McVey: After previously recovering from lung cancer, two cancer spots were discovered on Bobby’s spine, leading to back surgery several months ago to stabilize a weakened vertebra. Since completing five radiation treatments to address any remaining cancer cells, Bobby is experiencing much less back pain. He is now off pain medication, sleeping well, and able to do his own physical therapy. Bobby’s next scan is scheduled for May 12. Please pray for a clean scan and complete healing.

Wanda Quattlebaum: On March 10, Wanda fell and fractured her femur just above the knee. After extensive surgery and a short stay in a rehabilitation facility, she returned home last week. She is now adjusting to daily life at home while using a wheelchair and has begun both physical and occupational therapy. Ray and Wanda are grateful for the kindness, support, and prayers they have received. Please continue praying for Wanda’s healing and for strength and perseverance for both Ray and Wanda.

Grace Brown: Grace continues undergoing immunotherapy for lung cancer through daily medication and periodic infusions. Recent scans show that all tumors are continuing to shrink and that inflammation is steadily decreasing—praise God for this encouraging progress. In addition, the infusions have received FDA approval to be administered as a once‑a‑month injection, which could significantly reduce visit frequency if approved by insurance. Please continue praying for Grace’s healing, manageable treatment side effects, and for peace and strength for Grace and her family.

Ruthanne Redfield: Ruthanne has been working through several physical issues and has now found a good balance for her thyroid medication. While she continues to address other concerns, including low body temperature and some vision issues, she is feeling much better trusting the ongoing process as these concerns are addressed. Please continue praying that Ruthanne’s health may be fully restored.

Rosemary Lisby: Rosemary continues to deal with inflamed nerves in her back that affect mobility in her right leg and cause numbness in her foot. A recent injection did not provide relief, and she continues with physical therapy while exploring other treatment options. Please pray for complete healing and fully restored mobility. Also remember her husband, Greg, as he continues to care for her.

Virginia Ann Edwards (Bo Edwards’ mother): Sister Edwards, age 91, is continuing her recovery and rehab following a partial hip replacement. Please pray for her healing and for those caring for her, including Bo. Also pray that her application is approved for a place in an assisted living facility near her daughter Clair in Myrtle Beach.

Calli (Bo Edwards’ sister): Please continue to pray for restored mental health, renewed motivation, and peace within her home, especially as she and her husband care for their special needs son.

OUR SICK AND SAINTS AT HOME

Please remember in your prayers the following GC members who have ongoing health issues and are generally unable to attend worship services:

Bert and Joyce Blackwell: Pray for Bert’s declining health and for Joyce as his caregiver. We pray for strength for Joyce and that she can hold up physically as caregiver.

Melissa Boyle is helping to coordinate meals; you may sign up to take a meal at mealtrain.com/trains/yrzl3k. Feel free to send Joyce a text of encouragement (no calls, please); she so appreciates it.

Esther Johnson: Esther continues physical therapy twice a week, which is helping her mobility and giving her a chance to get out of the house. Please pray for renewed strength and continued progress for Esther as she faces Parkinson’s disease, and for Russ as he cares for her.

David and Carolyn Wheeler: David is battling cancer in both kidneys as well as prostate cancer. Pain is being kept under control very well with minimal pain meds, and both David and Carolyn continue to maintain wonderful, inspiring positive attitudes. Please keep this special couple in your prayers. David and Carolyn welcome cards and calls.

Wayne and Faye Tincher: Wayne and Faye, both in their early 90s, live at The Glen Villas on Highway 9 and have been part of Grace Chapel since moving to Cumming three years ago. Due to health and mobility challenges, neither is able to drive. They have three children and six grandchildren, all living in Georgia. Please keep this dear couple in your thoughts and prayers.
