IN MEMORIAM
John Wood: It is with both sadness and hope in Christ that we share the passing of our dear brother, John Wood, who went to be with the Lord on Sunday morning, August 16. He was 58 years old.
John fought a courageous 21-month battle against cancer and remained a powerful witness to faith, hope, and perseverance throughout his journey. His funeral was held on Saturday, August 22, at the Greater Atlanta Christian School Performing Arts Center.
Please take a few moments to read John’s obituary and learn more about the life of this loving husband, devoted father, and faithful Christian servant.

We continue to pray for John’s family, especially Alicia, his devoted partner in life, who faithfully ministered to him throughout his illness. We are grateful for the powerful testimony they shared with church groups and others as they walked this journey together, always seeking to glorify God and encourage others in their faith.
Please continue praying for their children, Addi, Dillon, and Ayden, who miss their father dearly. Pray also for their extended family, including John’s and Alicia’s parents. May our Heavenly Father surround them with His peace, comfort, and strength in the days ahead.

MEDICAL
Ashley Wyatt: Ashley has been healing well and feeling stronger each day since her lumpectomy on August 5. The surgeon successfully removed the small mass with clear margins and also removed five lymph nodes. One lymph node contained a few tiny cancer cells, while the other four were clear. At this time, her doctors believe she remains a good candidate for radiation and will not need chemotherapy.
As Ashley returns to teaching in her preschool classroom this week, please continue to pray for her healing, for no side effects from upcoming treatments, and that the cancer will not return!
Kathy Brooks - Under Hospice Care at Home: Kathy is at home under hospice care as she has decided to forgo further treatment of some serious health issues. Kathy and Ed are delighted with every person from the hospice team and are so grateful for the love and support brought by visitors and phone calls. Please continue to pray for these two beloved saints and family, asking God to surround them with His peace, comfort, strength, and grace.
Verna Enfinger: Margaret Krams’ mother, Verna, who is in her early 90s, continues to recover at home from a urinary tract infection and general weakness. She is receiving physical and occupational therapy each week.
Please pray for renewed strength, endurance, and restored health for Verna. Also remember Margaret and her sisters as they faithfully care for and support her during this season.
Grace Brown: Grace is currently undergoing a series of five radiation treatments to target a tumor in her lung that had begun to grow again. She also continues to receive her monthly chemotherapy infusions. Please continue praying for Grace’s healing, for manageable treatment side effects, and for peace, strength, and encouragement for Grace and her family.
Rosemary Lisby: Ongoing back and leg problems continue to affect Rosemary’s mobility, including her ability to drive with confidence. Please pray for complete healing and restored mobility so that she can return to her normal activities. Also remember Greg as he faithfully cares for and supports her.
Virginia Ann Edwards (Bo Edwards’ mother): Ninety-two-year-old Sister Edwards continues to recover from a partial hip replacement and plans to remain at home for the foreseeable future. Please pray for continued healing and strength as she progresses through rehabilitation, and for her family as they lovingly care for her.
Calli (Bo Edwards’ sister): Please pray for Calli’s mental healing and emotional well-being, and for peace, strength, and encouragement for her immediate family.

OUR SICK AND SAINTS AT HOME
Please remember in your prayers the following GC members who have ongoing health issues and are generally unable to attend worship services:
Esther and Russ Johnson: Esther has resumed outpatient physical therapy once per week after taking a break for a time. We continue to pray for renewed strength, improved breathing, and a better quality of life as Esther manages Parkinson’s disease. Also remember Russ as he faithfully cares for her each day. May the Lord bless and sustain them both as they continue to persevere with love, faith, and gratitude.
David and Carolyn Wheeler: David is battling cancer in both kidneys as well as prostate cancer. Pain is being kept under control very well with minimal pain meds, and both David and Carolyn continue to maintain wonderful, inspiring positive attitudes. Please keep this special couple in your prayers. They welcome cards and calls.
Bert and Joyce Blackwell: Please pray for Bert as his health continues to decline, and for Joyce as she faithfully cares for him each day. Pray that God will strengthen Joyce physically, emotionally, and spiritually as she serves as Bert’s caregiver.
Melissa Boyle is helping to coordinate meals; you may sign up to take them a meal at mealtrain.com/trains/yrzl3k. Feel free to send Joyce a text of encouragement (no calls, please); she so appreciates it.
Wayne and Faye Tincher: The Tinchers, both in their early 90s, have been GC members since moving to Cumming three years ago. Due to health and mobility challenges, neither is able to drive. Please keep this dear couple in your thoughts and prayers.
