"I've been washed in the water, washed in the blood; I'm as good as new, oh, hallelujah!”

Our Youth sang these words over and over this summer, often after they witnessed friends giving their lives to Christ in baptism. This declaration of a new identity comes from the opening lyrics in the song Washed, by Elevation Rhythm. Besides being a super catchy tune with a great beat, this song points to a powerful truth that will be the basis for our series as we begin this new ministry year.
 
How do we help young people who are struggling to discover their true identity? What do we do when we see the young ones we love struggling under the weight of the consequences of their sin? What will free them from the shame that seems to hold them captive? As the song Washed proclaims, only what Jesus accomplished on the cross and through His resurrection do we have any hope to be free from our sin and shame. This is a series about what it means to be united with Christ in His death and resurrection, and what that looks like for us as we live as clean, redeemed, victorious children of God!
