Prayer Requests • 1/19/2025

MEDICAL

Kathy & Ed Brooks: Both still recovering from COVID. This is Kathy’s second bout of COVID since Christmas; while still testing positive, she is improving and able to get around a little. Ed is now testing negative, but still dealing with respiratory issues. Please pray for healing and full recovery.

Chun & John Birrer’s niece, Leah: Has had three surgeries in five months due to multiple stones in her kidneys causing damage, and structural anomalies in both of them. Please pray for healing and peace for Leah and family.

John Wood: Began chemo treatment for pancreatic cancer at Emory Winship Cancer Institute. Please pray that John qualifies for a pancreatic cancer research study. Lord, be with this sweet family and give them strength, comfort, and healing.

Bobby McVey: Scans show that we are winning the battle against lung cancer! Bobby will start additional treatment for bone metastasis in February. Please pray that this treatment is effective, and for full health recovery.

Jim (friend of Cora Thomblin’s son): Struggling with a concussion, migraines, and depression. His neurologist has put together a treatment plan. We pray for treatment success and full healing.

THANKSGIVING

Betty Hearn: Fully recovered from COVID, and continuing to recover from fall-related injuries. The resulting blood clot and neck injury are both healing without intervention or surgery. Betty is thankful to God that her health issues are resolving, and is so grateful for all the prayers. (No visitors at this time.)

Betty Doris and daughter, Kim: Betty has recovered from pneumonia, and Kim has recovered from her periodic stomach pain due to gastroparesis/digestive issues. Wonderful news!

Mark Sampley: We rejoice that Rick’s brother, Mark, has made vast mental and physical improvements after a 70-day hospital stay and almost four weeks of home confinement. He will be moving into an assisted living facility in Cookeville, TN next Friday. Mark’s foot infection and skin graft have healed, and he is learning to walk again. Thanks be to God, and to you, our prayer warriors!

MEDICAL

Trudie Plunkett (Bonnie Barnett’s sister): Passed away in Florence, AL on January 15 after a long illness. Please pray for Bonnie and her two surviving brothers. Many GC members knew this wonderful saint.

Services will be held on 1/25 at Magnolia Church of Christ in Florence, AL, with visitation at 3:00 p.m. and a celebration of life at 4:00 p.m.
