Prayer Requests • 4/27/2025

MEDICAL

Lachlan Doris (great granddaughter of Betty Doris): Four-year-old Lachlan was recently
hospitalized for breathing problems due to low oxygen levels. Please pray for her recovery, and for her parents and family.

Bert & Joyce Blackwell: Bert is at home under Joyce’s care as his health continues to slowly decline. Please pray for comfort for Bert, and strength, comfort, and energy for Joyce, especially as she keeps up with their sweet 8-year-old great granddaughter who lives with them.

Bobby McVey: Has hopefully had his last chemo treatment for lung cancer. Bobby is getting better every day after dealing with nausea and weight loss, and is awaiting results of a CT scan from 4/18. Please pray for a clean scan and full recovery.

David Wheeler: Had an MRI on April 4th to evaluate his kidney cancer; David is also dealing with prostate and skin cancer. Will be following up with his doctor in June. Due to fragile health, David is not a candidate for kidney or prostate surgery. Please pray for strength, comfort, and peace for both David and wife Carolyn. They are a true loving inspiration.

Esther and Russ Johnson: Esther continues to deal with the effects of Parkinson’s disease, which she’s had for ten years. A new aspect has been the onset of feeling more anxious. Husband, Russ, continues to be Esther’s caregiver, which has its own challenges. Please pray that our Heavenly Father will give this sweet couple a Holy Spirit-level of peace, comfort, and strength and that God will remove Esther’s anxiety.

Cathy Arvidson (sister-in-law of Esther Johnson): Dealing with severe back pain due to spinal stenosis. Has met with a surgeon and needs surgery, but is awaiting insurance approval. Please pray for insurance approval, that the surgery will relieve the pain, and that she has complete recovery.

John Wood: We are praying that John’s medical treatments for pancreatic cancer are effective and that God will lead him to the very best solutions for complete healing. We pray that God continues to be glorified through the tremendous faith that John, Alicia, and their family have displayed throughout this journey.

Laura Johnson: We pray for Russ Johnson’s sister and her ongoing battle with bladder cancer (over nine years). Laura is having chemo infusion treatments that have had tough side effects. We pray for Laura: for strength, reduced nausea, and that the treatments will rid her body of cancer. Give her peace, Lord.

Louise Clites: Is in failing health as she continues to reside in her assisted living apartment in Cumming. At age 94, having lived a life of love for our Heavenly Father and his son, her children ask us to pray for some “good days” for Louise as she waits on the Lord to call her home.

Vernon Shuffett II: Vernon Shuffett’s 99-year-old father (who lives with him) had a stroke and was in rehab but is now back at home. His health continues to decline, with severe dementia now happening. Hospice is involved. Please pray for comfort and peace for Vernon’s dad, and for strength for Vernon and his family as his dad’s caregiver.

THANKSGIVING

Asher (nephew of Rachael Turner): Great news! Six-year-old Asher, who recently underwent brain surgery due to bacterial meningitis, had his MRI this week and was well enough to go home on Wednesday. Please continue to pray for little Asher’s full recovery and the family.
