MEDICAL

Anna Watson: Was admitted to Northside Forsyth Hospital this past Friday due to high blood pressure and chest pain. Please keep Anna, Neldon, their family, and the dedicated doctors and staff at Northside in your prayers. We ask for God’s guidance in every step of Anna’s medical care. Anna is also recovering from a recent knee replacement surgery which is an additional issue for this dear sister right now.  We pray for the great physician to heal Anna and to restore her to good health.

Doug Gilliard: Broke his hip week before last. We pray for strength, successful mending and rehab for Doug, and for Jane as his caregiver.

Susan Boling: Susan continues treatment for severe lower back pain at a rehab facility in Cumming, while also coordinating care for upcoming dental surgery. A few problematic teeth have led to a blood infection, requiring strong antibiotics until they can be removed. There’s a lot to manage in the coming weeks. Please pray that Susan will be able to navigate these medical challenges. We ask our heavenly Father to bring healing from both the back pain and the infection and give her strength and peace.

Sherry McMillan: Has developed debilitating pain in both knees which will require knee replacement surgery. Please pray that Sherry will be able to manage the pain while awaiting treatment, and for strength during this process.

Calli (sister of Bo Edwards): Is back home after being hospitalized in Charlotte, North Carolina, dealing with some mental health issues. Please pray for mental healing for Calli, and for strength for her husband, William, who is taking care of their adult special needs son while also working full-time. The family is in a very tough situation. Bo has been helping and periodically staying at their home. Please pray for the entire family dynamic to settle down and for peace in their household.

Ava Beasley: Jim and Marjorie’s granddaughter is doing great as she continues recovery from her recent back surgery. She’s becoming active again—such a blessing for a young teen, especially with the school year starting. Her doctors are very pleased with her progress.  Jim and Marjorie said: “We would truly like to add a praise and gratitude request to everyone for being such awesome prayer warriors and the Lord answering above and beyond our requests!”  God is good!  All the time!

John Wood: John continues his periodic chemo treatments for pancreatic cancer every few weeks. He has gained back some weight and is actively walking each day. He still deals with periodic weakness and nausea after treatments but is able to eat. Please pray for John for strength, full remission of the cancer, and complete healing. Pray also for Alicia and their whole sweet family.

Esther and Russ Johnson: Esther recently changed doctors as part of her treatment for Parkinson’s disease and is also dealing with some gastrointestinal issues. Please pray that Esther’s ongoing and future treatments will lead to much better daily health, strength, and control over any anxiety. Please also pray for Russ as her caregiver.

Bobby McVey: Bobby met with his cardiologist this week as a follow-up to bypass surgery a few months ago. Everything checked out fine; the lung cancer is in check and Bobby’s energy slowly returning. He even survived a few days at Disney with his grandson. Thanks and all praise be to God! Please continue to remember this sweet family in your prayers.

IN MEMORIAM

Roger Harman: Karen Walker’s brother-in-law passed away on Saturday, August 2nd. Please pray for Karen’s sister, Vicki, her family, and for Roger’s son, Erik.

SAINTS AT HOME

Please remember in your prayers the following GC members who have ongoing health concerns or are unable to attend worship services for various reasons: David and Carolyn Wheeler and Bert and Joyce Blackwell. Give them a call or call ahead and see if a visit is appropriate.

By phone or in person, you will come away inspired and encouraged to be in the presence of these dear saints. The same goes for others in our active prayer requests list. Give them a loving call of encouragement as the Spirit prompts you.
