DUE TO SNOW AND ICE, OUR JANUARY 12 SERVICES HAVE BEEN CANCELED

Prayer Requests • 8/3/2025

MEDICAL

Doug Gilliard: Broke his hip week before last.  We pray for strength, successful mending and rehab for Doug, and for Jane as his caregiver.

Susan Boling: Is currently recovering at Cumming Health and Rehab, where she was transferred on July 24 from Northside Forsyth Hospital. She will remain in rehab for her lower back pain until at least August 19. She sincerely apologizes for not being able to respond to everyone’s messages and is deeply grateful for your prayers and kind thoughts. During her hospital stay, doctors discovered a serious bacterial blood infection that originated from the roots of a few teeth. She continues to receive IV antibiotics and will do so for several more weeks. May her rehabilitation be successful, and may both her back pain and infection be fully healed. May the Spirit bring Susan comfort, strength, and peace during these very trying times.

Sherry McMillan: Has developed debilitating pain in both knees which will require knee replacement surgery. Please pray that Sherry will be able to manage the pain while awaiting treatment, and for strength during this process.

Calli (sister of Bo Edwards): Is back home after being hospitalized in Charlotte, North Carolina, dealing with some mental health issues. Please pray for mental healing for Calli, and strength for her husband, William, who is taking care of their adult special needs son while also working full-time. The family is in a very tough situation. Bo has been helping and periodically staying at their home. Please pray for the entire family dynamic to settle down and for peace in that household.

Ava Beasley: Jim and Marjorie’s granddaughter is doing much better as she continues recovery from her recent back surgery. She has completed post-surgical follow-up appointments with her surgeon and physical therapist; both are pleased with how well she’s healing and getting her exercises in. Jim and Marjorie would like to add: “We would truly like to add a praise and gratitude request to everyone for being such awesome prayer warriors and the Lord answering above and beyond our requests!”

John Wood: John had his fifteenth chemo treatment for pancreatic cancer week before last.  He has been gaining weight and is actively walking each day.  He still deals with periodic weakness and nausea after treatments but is able to eat. Please pray for John for strength, full remission of the cancer, and complete healing, and pray for Alicia and their whole sweet family.

Bert & Joyce Blackwell: Bert is at home under Joyce’s care as his health continues to slowly decline. Please pray for comfort for Bert, and strength, comfort, and energy for Joyce. Sign up to take a meal or contribute to their meal fund at mealtrain.com/yrzl3k.

David Wheeler: David continues to do very well for someone with prostate and kidney cancer. He has a wonderful, encouraging attitude even though he is not a candidate for kidney or prostate surgery. Thanks be to God that he has minimal pain and discomfort. David and his wife, Carolyn, have not attended worship in person since before COVID due to David’s immune system. Please pray for strength, comfort, and peace for David, and for Carolyn as caregiver. Give them a phone call, or call in advance and visit. You will come away inspired and encouraged!  That goes for other members on our prayer request list, as well. Give them a loving call as the Spirit prompts you.

Esther and Russ Johnson: Esther recently changed doctors as part of her treatment for Parkinson’s disease and is also dealing with some gastrointestinal issues. Please pray that Esther’s ongoing and future treatments will lead to much better daily health, strength, and control over any anxiety. Please also pray for Russ as her caregiver.
