"If you help the poor, you are lending to the LORD— and he will repay you!"

Proverbs 19:17 NLT

Today Kurt Picker reflects on more than two decades of ministry in India and Nepal, sharing how God has continued to work through both opportunities and unexpected challenges. What began as a response to the 2004 tsunami grew into a ministry that has supported orphaned children, trained church leaders, equipped widows with job skills, cared for people affected by leprosy, and helped plant churches throughout the region.

Kurt also shares how God worked through setbacks. When restrictions forced the closure of an orphanage, children were placed with Christian families and supported through local churches. When ministry opportunities in India became more limited, God opened new doors in Nepal, leading to a partnership with Benjamin Akash and the development of a children's home.

Through each twist in the journey, God has remained faithful. Kurt's testimony reminds us that God's work continues even when plans change, and that He often uses unexpected circumstances to accomplish His purposes.

PRAYER FOCUS

- Ask God to show you what He would have you "loan to the Lord" through your giving and generosity.

- Thank God for the lives that have been impacted through the ministries in India and Nepal over the past two decades.

- Pray that God would continue opening new doors for the Gospel, even when others seem to close.
