DUE TO SNOW AND ICE, OUR JANUARY 12 SERVICES HAVE BEEN CANCELED

MEDICAL

Fran Sexton: Fran remains a patient at Northside Cherokee Hospital in Canton, where she has been since last Sunday, aside from a brief time at home earlier in the week. Her hospitalization began due to significant pain and swelling in her lower right leg, which led to treatment for a blood clot. She returned to the hospital by ambulance on Tuesday and has since been in Room 3313 at the Women’s Center. While doctors were considering a possible discharge on Friday, her hemoglobin levels dropped significantly compared to Thursday, which is concerning. On a positive note, the swelling in her leg has decreased considerably.

We pray for wisdom and guidance from our Great Physician for appropriate care planning for Fran. This is a lot for Paul, too. Prayers are so appreciated.

Doug Gilliard: Accidentally fell this week and rebroke his right hip, which was recently surgically repaired. This past Thursday, a complicated, 3 ½ hour surgery was performed to reassemble the hip, including placement of a metal plate for greater hip stability. Please pray for healing from the surgery and full recovery. Also pray for strength in the face of this medical storm for the entire family, especially Doug’s wife, Jane.

Loretta, Tommy Bradford’s sister: Received news from her doctor on Friday that no one wants to hear: “Stage 4 bone cancer with limited life expectancy.”  Loretta lives in the mountains of Northeast Georgia in Blairsville and has a loving family who is looking out for her. She will be traveling to Northside Hospital Forsyth periodically for chemo treatments.  At 82 years old, Loretta and her family are up against a challenging journey. She is sister to two of our GC members: Tommy Bradford and Ann Kendrick; her other sister, Jackie Bradford, is also a friend to many at Grace Chapel. Please keep Loretta and her family in your prayers and thoughts and pray for this family to be strong in the Lord of Hosts who sees our struggles and is with us…especially dear Loretta.

Anna Watson: Anna is currently at home under Neldon’s care, following her recent hospitalization due to chest pains. Doctors prescribed new medications to help manage her blood pressure, and we’re thankful to report that they are working. We pray for this dear sister to get back to full health soon. Neldon said, “We are so grateful for the prayers and for our loving Heavenly Father, who hears and answers prayers! Thanks to all for your love and prayers! May God bless each of you.”

Susan Boling: Susan continues to undergo treatment for a mountain of medical issues that began in July with severe back and hip pain, leading to hospitalization. For the past month, she has been receiving care at Cumming Health and Rehab. While she is now able to participate in rehab and walk with a cane, she still experiences back pain—though thankfully, it has lessened in intensity. In addition, she is receiving daily antibiotic infusions through a PICC line to treat a bacterial infection affecting her heart’s aortic valve.

As if that weren’t enough, the facility currently has four patients who have tested positive for COVID-19. They are being quarantined in a separate area of the building. We are grateful to report that Susan does not have COVID, and we continue to pray that she remains healthy and protected. We ask for prayers for Susan’s full recovery and successful treatment, and for the safety and healing of the other patients and staff at the facility.

John Wood: John continues his chemo treatments for pancreatic cancer every few weeks. He has gained back some weight and is actively walking each day. He still deals with periodic weakness and nausea after treatments but is able to eat. Please pray for strength for John, full remission of the cancer, and complete healing. Pray also for Alicia and their entire sweet family.

Bo Edwards’ sister, Calli: Continues to deal with mental health issues. Please pray for Calli and her family in these ongoing struggles, that the issues will be resolved and the household will have peace. Please pray also for Bo as he is ministering to them.

Kim Doris: Has had another flare up of her GI pain. We pray that the injection she received last week will provide lasting relief and ease her pain and discomfort. Kim, you are a joy, and you brighten our days. We love you and pray for God’s comfort and healing.

SAINTS AT HOME

Please remember in your prayers the following GC members who have ongoing health issues and are unable to attend worship services:

Esther and Russ Johnson: Prayers for Esther’s ongoing struggles with Parkinson’s and digestion issues, and for her husband, Russ, as her caregiver.

Bert and Joyce Blackwell: Prayers for Bert’s declining health and for his wife, Joyce, as his caregiver. Please give Joyce a call of encouragement.

David and Carolyn Wheeler: David cannot be around large crowds due to his weak immune system. However, he and Carolyn are happy to have calls or visits.
