After years of wandering, Jacob returned to Canaan. Following God's command, he journeyed to Bethel with his household, purifying themselves and burying their idols. God protected them and reaffirmed His covenant, renaming Jacob as Israel and promising that kings, including Jesus, would come from his lineage. Jacob built an altar and testified that God had been with him throughout his journey, completing the circle back to Bethel.
