Jesus Knew Love

When it comes to defending faith or facing opposition there is a fleshly impulse to want to win the argument. What if that was replaced with the question, "How can I love this person?" Jesus didn't just say the greatest things to do were to love God and love your neighbor, he lived that out. Jesus used the golden rule in his life and ministry. He declares his love for humanity by living and dying for us. He charges his disciples with the task of loving one another (it's how the world will know they are his disciples) and to lay down their lives for one another. Before those lessons though, Jesus teaches his followers to love their enemies and to pray for those who persecute them.
