WHO:
GC Youth who are currently in 9th-12th grades (completing in May 2025).
- Since there is limited space, there will be an application process; interest does not guarantee a spot.
- We are looking for disciples of Jesus who have a “whatever” attitude for serving.
- We are looking for people who are prepared to share the Gospel, pray with folks, and lead various VBS activities.
WHEN:
Saturday morning, July 11th - Friday evening, July 17th
WHERE:
Southside Christian Church in Fort Pierce, Florida.
- We will stay in the church building, and will be sleeping on the floor
- Air mattresses and bedding items will be needed.
WHAT:
This will be a primarily relational mission trip partnering with Southside Church and other local organizations. We will:
- Build relationships and spread Jesus’ love to kids and whoever else we encounter!
- Partner with Southside to lead a VBS at their church in the evenings (likely taking our GC VBS to Southside).
- Serve with Bridge in the Ft. Pierce community in the mornings.
- Do whatever else they need us to do!
WHY:
- To be formed into a person who is more like Jesus.
- To practice following the way of Jesus in an environment outside of your comfort zone.
- To participate in the mission of Jesus by spreading God’s goodness throughout His world!
- To equip young people to humble themselves by taking the mindset of a servant, and loving people by meeting the needs in a local community.
HOW to sign up:
Complete this application by 11:59 p.m. on Monday, February 16, to indicate your interest in being on the team. Ben and Rocky will follow up with you by Sunday, February 22, which is when the team will be confirmed.
- Each team member will be responsible for their own fundraising.
- The fundraising goal is about $700 per team member (the exact amount will be determined based on the number of participants), The trip leaders will provide guidance & resources to raise support.
- Each member must pay at least 10% out of pocket.
