Community Partner news and service opportunities for GC members

GC's Care Team Corner connects members with our local community partner organizations, offering a variety of community-focused projects and events. Whether you’re passionate about feeding the hungry, mentoring children, or participating in neighborhood clean-ups, there’s something for everyone to make a meaningful impact.

PARTNER OF THE MONTH

Did you know that over 13,000 people, including over 900 children, experienced food insecurity in Forsyth County in 2019? The mission of Meals by Grace is to bring food, hope & transformation to children and families in need, with resources from our community, so that children can go to bed  happy, not hungry.

Meals by Grace is a no-cost meal program focused on helping feed children and their families. Generally, these families have been identified as having a special need by social workers, school system social workers, or church or community leaders. These families may have limited or unreliable transportation, experience frequent food insecurity, or be working to overcome a major health or work loss event.

By providing weekly home delivery of meals and groceries, along with providing families the opportunity to shop via a points system at their Client Choice Pantry, Meals by Grace is working to eliminate food insecurity for children in Forsyth County and beyond.

We Need Mentors!
Whitlow Elementary needs MENTORS!

A mentor is a volunteer that helps provide a WES student with a special, supportive relationship that will hopefully become a foundation for success in that child's life.

Mentors typically commit 30 minutes per week during school hours to meet with a student and help promote a student's self-worth, motivation, coping skills and strength of character.

Mentoring is a special way that you can help children and give back to your community. You can make a difference!

Contact our Whitlow Elementary liaison, Tim Aligheri, with any questions.
