Please continue praying that the tumors will continue to shrink and disappear, and for John’s complete healing. John, Alicia and their family are so thankful to our Heavenly Father in so many ways! Pray for John’s renewing strength, relief from pain, and for peace and comfort that only God can provide.

Bobby McVey: After recovering well from lung cancer, two cancer spots were later discovered on Bobby’s back (vertebrae). This led to back surgery several months ago to stabilize a weakened vertebra affected by one of the spots.

Since recovering from surgery and completing five recent radiation treatments to eliminate any remaining cancer cells, Bobby is experiencing significantly less back pain. His pain has decreased enough that he is now off pain medication, sleeping well at night, and able to do his own physical therapy. Bobby’s next scan is scheduled for May 12. Please pray for a clean scan and complete healing.

When we asked, “What should we pray for?” his response was, “Praise God!” Bobby’s heart is overflowing with praise and thankfulness!

Wanda Quattlebaum: Several weeks ago, Wanda fell and fractured her femur just above the knee. After extensive surgery, she is now in rehabilitation. Here is husband Ray’s update:

“Wanda is steadily progressing, but it’s been slow. She’s still dealing with a lot of pain, which is making things more challenging. She has been able to do a little walking during physical therapy with a walker—not much yet, but it’s a start. She’s getting pretty comfortable using the wheelchair, but the goal now is to transition her more into the walker so she can build strength and eventually work on steps to come home.

We’re not sure what insurance will decide next, so I may need to keep advocating for more time. For now, we’re just taking it one day at a time. Please continue to keep her in your prayers. We truly appreciate all the love and support—it means more than you know.”

Please pray for Wanda’s continued healing and for Ray. Pray that the insurance company will be accommodating throughout Wanda’s recovery. May the Lord grant them strength and perseverance.

Grace Brown: Grace is undergoing immunotherapy for lung cancer through daily medication and periodic infusions. Her husband, Tom, reports that all the cancer locations are showing less activity and have shrunk! Grace and Tom are so thankful for all your prayers. Please continue praying for healing, manageable treatment side effects, and for peace and strength for Grace and her family.

Ruthanne Redfield: Ruthanne is working through several physical issues, including finding the right balance for her thyroid medication, addressing low body temperature, and managing some vision concerns. Please be praying for wisdom for her doctors and for clarity in treatment as these issues are addressed, and that Ruthanne may be restored to full and lasting health.

Susan Boling: Susan is gaining strength through physical therapy but continues to experience pain in her back and in her left hip, which was replaced three years ago. She desires to become more physically fit and asks for prayers as she works through this daily challenge toward improved health. Please pray for encouragement, pain relief, and continued progress for Susan.

Rosemary Lisby: Rosemary continues to improve from inflamed nerves in her back that have affected mobility in her right leg and caused numbness in her foot. The treatments have been helpful, and she is now able to drive more frequently as her right foot no longer locks up. Please pray for complete healing and fully restored mobility. Also remember her husband, Greg, as he continues to care for Rosemary and occasionally serves as her driver when needed.

Virginia Ann Edwards (Bo Edwards’ mother): Sister Edwards, age 91, is continuing her recovery and rehab following a partial hip replacement. Please pray for her healing and for those caring for her, including Bo. Also pray that her application is approved for a place in an assisted living facility near her daughter Clair in Myrtle Beach.

Calli (Bo Edwards’ sister): Please continue to pray for restored mental health, renewed motivation, and peace within her home, especially as she and her husband care for their special needs son. Calli seems to be doing better after in-hospital treatments she underwent a few months ago.

OUR SICK AND SAINTS AT HOME

Please remember in your prayers the following GC members who have ongoing health issues and are generally unable to attend worship services:

Wayne and Faye Tincher: Wayne and Faye are both in their early 90s, live at The Glen Villas on Highway 9, and have been part of Grace Chapel since moving to Cumming three years ago. They were members of Northlake Church of Christ for 50 years where Wayne served as an elder. He is a retired professor from Georgia Tech. Due to health and mobility challenges, neither Wayne nor Faye drives. They have three children and six grandchildren here in Georgia. Please keep this dear couple in your thoughts and prayers.

David and Carolyn Wheeler: David is battling cancer in both kidneys as well as prostate cancer. Pain is being kept under control very well with minimal pain meds. David credits Carolyn for keeping him alive—she is a wonderful caregiver. They continue to maintain wonderful, inspiring positive attitudes. Please keep this special couple in your prayers. David and Carolyn welcome cards and calls.

Esther Johnson: Esther continues her visits to a physical therapist twice a week and is enjoying the challenge of the workouts. Russ says the therapy is helping—not only with maintaining mobility, but also by giving her a chance to get out of the house. Please pray for renewed strength and continued progress for Esther as she battles Parkinson’s, and for Russ as he faithfully cares for her.

Bert and Joyce Blackwell: Pray for Bert’s declining health and for Joyce as his caregiver. Joyce says that they continue to hang in there. We pray for strength for Joyce and that she can hold up physically as caregiver. Knee pain continues to be an ongoing struggle for her.

Melissa Boyle is helping to coordinate meals; you may sign up to take a meal at mealtrain.com/trains/yrzl3k. This is not as much as his previous scans, but the combined scans show a total of over 30% shrinkage since last November. John’s oncologist is very pleased. The recent emergence of an ulcer seems to be under control and healing up with medication and diet.

Alicia says, “Our prayer is that the drugs continue to attack and kill the cancer and that the side effects are minimal and manageable.” We pray for a full recovery of John’s health and for strength, relief from pain, and for peace and comfort for John, Alicia, and their entire family.

Bobby McVey: Following Bobby’s recent back surgery, doctors identified two areas of concern on his spine that are being treated with radiation. He has completed three treatments, and will have two more this week. His back pain comes and goes, but Bobby is able to work intermittently with frequent breaks.

Please pray for successful radiation treatments and for relief from pain that he is experiencing. May the Lord heal Bobby, bless and strengthen him, and relieve his pain. Be with Carrie and the entire family during this ongoing journey back to good health.

Beatrice Sage: Bea, Patrick Boyle’s 58-year-old sister in New York, recently completed radiation and chemotherapy for stage-four throat cancer, diagnosed in September. Bea is recovering well following her recent treatments, and she is so thankful for all the prayers. Please pray for full remission and full restoration of health.

Rick Sampley: Rick is scheduled to have gallbladder removal surgery this Thursday at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta. The procedure will be performed on an outpatient basis. Please pray for a smooth surgery and a quick, complete recovery.

OUR SICK AND SAINTS AT HOME

Please remember in your prayers the following GC members who have ongoing health issues and are generally unable to attend worship services:

David and Carolyn Wheeler: David is battling cancer in both kidneys as well as prostate cancer. Pain is being kept under control very well with minimal pain meds. David credits Carolyn for keeping him alive—she is a wonderful caregiver. They continue to maintain wonderful, inspiring positive attitudes.

David said recently, “We are walking by faith. We are doing as good as we can, Thanks to everyone who is praying for us!” Please keep this special couple in your prayers. David and Carolyn welcome cards and calls.

Esther Johnson: Esther continues to face the challenges of Parkinson’s disease and related health issues. She has recently begun attending physical therapy twice a week and is enjoying the challenge of the workouts. Russ says the therapy is helping—not only with improved mobility, but also by giving her a chance to get out of the house.

Please pray for renewed strength and continued progress for Esther, and for Russ as he faithfully cares for her.

Bert and Joyce Blackwell: Pray for Bert’s declining health and for Joyce as his caregiver. He had been doing very well until a new concern arose this week—a bleeding ulcer. John is now being treated with medication and dietary changes, and we are thankful this issue did not prevent him from making the trip to New York.

Please pray that the ulcer will heal quickly. Continue to pray that the medication John is taking will effectively combat his pancreatic cancer and eliminate it from his body, and that he will be able to remain on this treatment with minimal side effects. We also ask for continued recovery of strength, relief from pain, and for peace, comfort, and perseverance for John, Alicia, and their entire family.

Bobby McVey: Following Bobby’s recent back surgery, doctors identified two areas of concern on his spine that will be treated with radiation beginning the week after next. He is scheduled to undergo five treatments, one every other day.

Please pray for successful radiation treatments and for Bobby’s full return to good health. May the Lord bless and strengthen him, and be with Carrie and the entire family during this time.

Rosemary Lisby: Rosemary received a second epidural injection recently to help further calm the inflamed nerves that have caused persistent numbness and pain in her right leg and foot. Please pray for complete healing and restored mobility. She is beginning to venture out and drive to nearby locations. Also remember her husband, Greg, as he continues to care for Rosemary and serve as her periodic driver.

Grace Brown: Grace is undergoing immunotherapy for lung cancer through daily medication and periodic infusions. Her husband, Tom, reports good news from Grace’s most recent scans: the inflammation in Grace's lung has gone down and she is able to continue her immunotherapy. In addition, all the cancer locations are showing less activity and have shrunk! Grace and Tom are so thankful for all your prayers. Please continue praying for healing, manageable treatment side effects, and for peace and strength for Grace and her family.

Carolyn prepared a wonderful Southern, home‑cooked meal, and it was a joyful blessing for dear friends in Christ to spend meaningful time together in person.

David is battling cancer in both kidneys as well as prostate cancer.

She recently began physical therapy twice a week, and Russ says it’s helping—not only with mobility, but also by giving her a chance to get out of the house.
Esther and Russ are back after traveling to Florida for a wedding Saturday a week ago. Although very tiring, it was a beautiful wedding, and Esther was able to catch up with family members. They had a wonderful time!

Please pray for renewed strength and continued progress for Esther, and for Russ as he faithfully cares for her.

Bert and Joyce Blackwell: Pray for Bert’s declining health and for Joyce as his caregiver. The progress he has made is truly remarkable. His strength has returned, he has gained needed weight, and his recent scan showed a 25% reduction in tumor size with no new growth. His oncologist is very pleased.

John will continue traveling to New York every three weeks for follow‑up appointments and monitoring. Alicia specifically asks that we pray for the tumors to continue shrinking by 20–25% with each future scan.

Please continue praying for ongoing recovery of strength, relief from pain and treatment side effects, and for peace, comfort, and perseverance for John, Alicia, and their entire family. They are so grateful to our Heavenly Father and thankful for all of you…for every prayer, message, and act of encouragement—they feel your love.

Ruthanne Redfield: After receiving treatment for a previously undiagnosed thyroid condition, Ruthanne has rapidly regained much of her strength. She is walking again and moving around freely. She meets with her specialist on Monday for a follow up regarding the thyroid medication she has been taking. She is so thankful to God for her recovery and for your prayers. Please continue to pray for Ruthanne’s renewed energy and sustained good health.

Beatrice Sage: Bea, Patrick Boyle’s 58-year-old sister in New York, recently completed radiation and chemotherapy for stage-four throat cancer, diagnosed in September. The treatments caused significant loss of weight and strength. Bea is recovering well following her recent treatments, and she is so thankful for all the prayers. Please pray for full remission and full restoration of health.

Rosemary Lisby: Rosemary is scheduled to receive a second epidural injection in March to help further calm the inflamed nerves that have caused persistent numbness and pain in her right leg and foot. She has experienced some improvement from the first injection and began physical therapy last week. As the numbness in her right foot continues to lessen, she will also begin testing her ability to drive again. Please pray for complete healing, restored mobility, and the full return of her ability to drive. Also remember her husband, Greg, as he continues to care for Rosemary and serve as her driver during this time.

Grace Brown: Grace is undergoing immunotherapy for lung cancer through daily medication and periodic infusions. Thanks be to God that the treatments are working—the lung tumors have significantly decreased, and several lesions in the brain and hip have shrunk or disappeared. Side effects, however, have become more challenging, including rashes and fatigue. Please pray for healing, for manageable treatment side effects, and for peace and strength for Grace and her family.

Susan Boling: Susan continues to do very well following her hip replacement surgery. Please continue praying for complete healing and the full return of strength, mobility, and overall health.

Virginia Ann Edwards: Sister Edwards, Bo Edwards’ mother, is 91 and lives alone in Columbia, South Carolina. Recently she fell and fractured her left hip, leading to a partial hip replacement. Family members—including Bo—are rotating caregiving responsibilities to support her during recovery. Because of her recent health challenges and increasing frailty, the family is gently encouraging her to consider moving to an assisted living facility near her daughter Clair’s home in Myrtle Beach, where an opening is currently available.

Please pray for wisdom and clarity as decisions are made about her long-term care, for her full healing and recovery, and for strength and blessing for all who are caring for Sister Edwards during this time.

Calli (Bo Edwards’ sister): Please continue to pray for restored mental health, renewed motivation, and peace within her home, especially as she and her husband care for their special needs son. Please pray for continued healing, renewed motivation, and peace within her home, especially as she and her husband care for their special‑needs son.

OUR SICK AND SAINTS AT HOME

Please remember in your prayers the following GC members who have ongoing health issues and are generally unable to attend worship services:

Bert and Joyce Blackwell: Pray for Bert’s declining health and for Joyce as his caregiver. Joyce says that they continue to hang in there. Melissa Boyle is helping to coordinate meals; you may sign up to take a meal at mealtrain.com/trains/yrzl3k. Feel free to send Joyce a text of encouragement (no calls, please); she so appreciates it.

David and Carolyn Wheeler: David says this week, “We are walking by faith. We are doing as good as we can, keeping our doctor’s appointments, and looking at more MRI tests. Thanks to everyone who is praying for us!”

David cannot be around large crowds due to his weak immune system. He is battling cancer in both kidneys as well as prostate cancer. Thankfully, neither has spread, and we pray that this remains the case since surgery is not an option for either condition. Pain management is currently under control. David credits Carolyn for keeping him alive—she is a wonderful caregiver. They continue regular doctor visits as Carolyn also faces health challenges, yet both maintain positive attitudes. David and Carolyn welcome calls or visits.

Esther Johnson: Esther continues to face Parkinson’s disease and related health concerns. We are grateful that her recent heart catheterization revealed no cardiac issues, which helps rule out causes of her fatigue and shortness of breath. She has begun a new oral medication that her doctor hopes will help restore strength and improve breathing. Please pray that she tolerates the medication well and experiences real benefits. Pray for renewed stamina, easier breathing, and a better quality of life—and for Russ as he cares for her.

HOW CAN WE PRAY FOR YOU?

We would be honored to pray for you!
